What Mama Has to Say...

Friends, F(P)era and Fun
It is said that good things come in 3's, and this week, I had my share of these 3 good things:

A Perfect Wedding Gown for the Perfect Bride

At the beginning of the week, I received an email from my dear friend M, which contains pictures of her in the different wedding gowns she tried over the weekend. Her final choice is a classic ivory (non-beaded and non-embroidered) bustier gown. So as not to ruin the surprise, I won't be posting the picture here. But she sure looks very beautiful in it. She said she almost cried when she saw herself in the mirror. I bet I would have too had I been there with her. I am so glad that her wedding preparations are finally getting underway. And with the wedding gown decision finally made, I am sure the others will just as easily follow suit.

Getting My Effort's Worth

My boss cornered me at lunch time sometime this week, and handed me a letter containing my Pay Determination for the year. That, folks, for short, is my salary increase for the year. It's the first time I'm getting a salary increase in this company (as I have only become a regular employee late last year), and according to those who have been in the company much longer, this year's increase is a lot better. It does look good in the gross amount, but I'm not so sure how much will be left, after the corresponding taxes. Nonetheless, it feels good that all the work I've put in gets recognized. It's also pro-rated from the 1st of April, so my next pay is going to look very good, at least :)

Fun While Learning

I attended a 4-day training on our company's very own Project Development and Execution Methodology. The participants were grouped into 4 teams with 4 members each. Aside from learning the ropes and all the nitty-gritty details of the methodology, we were made to compete against each other in the race to get the top prize. Each phase was ended with a game, ala-Jeopardy, and it was so much fun bullying each other. The class also participated actively in the discussions, sometimes too actively--dami side-comments! We all came out of the training with new knowledge, and as for our team, we managed to get the top prize, and I'm going home with an extra 250 pesos in my pocket. Heehee.

I am glad to be able to end this week on a happy note. I hope yours was as happy. Here's to an enjoyable weekend!

that's what Mama said at 2:49 PM
